A map of Camp Kirby is available here
As part of the outdoor camping experience, campers sleep in spacious seven person tents on canvas cots. Each tent sleeps seven comfortably with room for personal gear and are firmly constructed on a concrete base. Campers must provide their own sleeping gear like a sleeping bag or sheets and a pillow.
Married couples may bunk together; otherwise only leaders of the same sex may share a sleeping space. Youth campers stay in sleepings areas with other youth and may not bunk with any adult other than a parent or sibling.
Shower facilities are conveniently located near the Dining Hall. The shower facilities are available to adult male and female leaders, youth and staff members on a rotating schedule posted at the showers.
Kirby's fully equipped Health Lodge can handle many of the emergencies and illnesses that occur at camp. The Health Officer is on duty 24 hours a day when camp is in session and is trained delivering quality medical aid.
Food and fellowship is a key part of Scouting and it is no wonder the Dining Hall is the nerve center of camp activity. The Dining Hall serves three nutritious meals a day and also camp program. The Dining Hall serves as a gathering point for information, announcements and messages as well as the songs and skits that make Scout camping so wonderful. Grace is held before each meal and the Dining Hall also serves as an emergency shelter during severe weather. The building will be available to all leaders 24 hours a day.
Healthy snacks, camp clothing and souvenirs are always available at the Trading Post. Scouts may spend money they've brought with them at the Trading Post during its posted hours which do not overlap meals, vespers or campfires.
There is a phone line in camp that may be used to contact campers in the case of an emergency (610-982-5731). Please know that if a family member wishes to contact someone in camp, he or she may leave a message and the camp staff will make sure the message gets to the proper recipient.
There is also a pay phone available to campers that wish to place outgoing calls.
