Remember, we are camping on private property

A Scout is trustworthy, courteous, and clean

We have obtained permission to camp on private property.  Our troop is privileged to use the land and property of the Tinsman’s for hiking, camping, fire building, and many other activities. That privilege carries important responsibilities for care, courtesy, and cleanliness.

We all have an obligation to do our best to care for and protect the property we visit.

Please follow these guidelines:

  1. Never deface or damage property or buildings.
  2. Do not tease or chase livestock and wildlife.
  3. Don’t leave gates open.
  4. Keep noise to a minimum, especially late at night.
  5. Leave behind "no trace" of our visit.
  6. With the owner’s permission, we will perform a conservation project on their property – we will be cleaning around the covered bridge.

Often we forget that camps, trails and activity sites belong to a landowner. People seeking entrance besiege popular sites, and the result has been that many owners are becoming alienated.  Let us remember, that the Tinsman’s want to support scouting in Solebury.  Let us respect and thank them for that privilege.

These rules boil down to a simple statement: Let us use common sense and treat the Tinsman’s, as you would like to be treated.  Let’s make sure we do all we can to make ourselves welcomed back to the Tinsman’s property.
